This morning (25 April) Marine Police found a body floating close to Basalt Island, Sai Kung. They suspect that it was the corpse of a fisherman that went missing during the storm on Saturday (20 April).
Just before the storm hit four people, mother, father, son and daughter, took a sampan to go fishing at Tung Lung Chau, starting from Tseung Kwan O. When the storm hit, the boat capsized throwing all four into the sea. Three were rescued by Marine Police but the father could not be found.
The three rescued persons were taken to hospital, where the young man was pronounced dead. The women, who had been wearing life jackets, were both uninjured.
Police are investigating the incident.
