Fine art spanning 5000 years of human culture will be on display at the Fine Art Asia Fair from 4 to 7 October at the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre. The annual event is the creation of Andy Hei, a dealer in classical Chinese furniture.

Some of the world’s most renowned galleries will have booths at the show displaying and sometimes offering for sale: Greek, Roman, Egyptian and Islamic arts; Chinese porcelain; modern British art; Chinese ink painting and carpets; Chinese lacquer works; Himalayan art; Indochinese jewellery; and antique English and Indian silver.

The first British Masterpiece Pavilion at the fair will host art from a dozen galleries and is promising to show Cezanne’s “La Vie des Champs” and engraved gems from the collection of Poland’s Prince Stanislaw Poniatowski.

Andy Hei is the founder of Fine Art Asia, now 13 years old, and scion of a family that has dealt in Ming and Qing huanghuali and zitan furniture for 70 years. Andy has organised 18 international art fairs in Hong Kong. Entry is $120 for an adult, $200 if two go together. The fair coincides with art auctions held at the Convention Centre.
