Germans take over Hong Kong’s magnificent Central Police Station heritage site from tomorrow, 4 November. PROJEKT BERLIN will sprinkle Teutonic stardust on the splendid historical site, now one of the most outstanding in Asia. The HK Jockey Club-financed renovation of Central Police Station, Victoria Prison and Central Magistracy, known as Tai Kwun (big station), is now complete and a must-visit. And from tomorrow until 17 November the Germans are going to add an extra touch of cultural class.

Prison Break by Lichtpiraten
4 to 17 November. Evening shows at varying times starting from 6:00 pm. Free.
The Prison Yard is transformed in a dazzling re-imagination of the Berlin metropolis. Lichtpiraten creates a fanciful world bringing diverse eras colliding with each other with light and project installations synchronised with a special soundscape.
Ute Lemper’s Berlin Nights
16 November 6:00 pm. Prison Yard. $480 to $680.
Berlin cabaret-style singing and music exploring the decadent decades between the wars in the radical and seedy underground of the great city.
The Flying Steps
16 – 17 November 2:00 pm. Parade Ground. Free.
Breakdancers who have toured the world winning championship after championship combine with Hong Kong street performers to show their athletic stuff on the Parade Ground in the centre of the Central Police Station site.

WENU Artist Collective teams up with Hong Kong artists in a large-scale street art project.
Berlin Symphony of Now

A cinematic journey through the nightlife of Berlin from high life to low life celebrating the vibrancy, danger and exhilaration of the capital city.
Württemberg Chamber Orchestra Helibronn
8 — 10 November 7:30pm. Prison Yard. $580 to $300.
Three programmes exploring vastly contrasting moments of Berlin’s musical history from 1747 when JS Bach was summoned to the palace of Frederick the Great.
Berlin Cinema

Iconic movies from Germany’s best filmmakers from “The Murderers are Among Us”to “Sun Alley”to “The Blue Angel.
Babylon Berlin Binge
16 — 17 November 11:00 am to 7:00 pm F Hall Studio at Block 17. $280.
German with English subtitles. The studio is transformed into a cosy living room for binge watching of the first eight episodes of Babylon Berlin Binge. Billed as the most expensive TV drama made in Germany, it tells the story of a police inspector on a secret mission in the Weimar Republic.
The Central Police Station heritage site, renovated at vast expense with two new buildings added, is home now to a complex of restaurants, bars, museums and art galleries. It is a must-see destination for residents and tourists.
