Property worth HK$700,000 stolen as three houses burgled in Sheung Sze Wan

Police received a report from a resident in Sheung Sze Wan Road, Sai Kung around 7:00 am this morning claiming that his kitchen window had been forced open and items inside the house had disappeared.

When the police arrived at the scene for investigation, the owners of two other houses on the same road also reported similar incidents. A neighbouring resident reported that the door of her house had been forced open, and a neighbour said he had witnessed someone breaking into his garden.

After preliminary calculations, the resident who reported the first case lost approximately HK$300,000 worth of jewellery and approximately US$50,000 US dollars in cash, while the woman lost a watch worth approximately HK$15,000 and approximately US$500 cash.

The third resident had nothing stolen.  After initial investigation by the police, the case was classified as a serial burglary and was handed over to the Criminal Investigation Team of the Tseung Kwan O Police District for follow-up. No one has been arrested yet.
