Man arrested for 10 burglaries at garbage collection stations in Sai Kung and TKO

Law enforcement agencies in the East Kowloon District arrested a 36-year-old man in Fanling on Tuesday 11 February on suspicion of “burglary” and “theft”. He was suspected of being involved in 10 burglary cases in Tseung Kwan O and Sai Kung. Investigations revealed that the arrested person committed the crime at garbage collection stations and staff lounges and storage rooms of engineering companies in the area between January and February as reported by BUZZ. The total value of cash and property stolen in the 10 cases, including engineering tools, exceeded HK$48,000.

During the operation, police officers recovered some of the lost property and seized a private car and clothes that the arrested person was suspected to have driven when committing the crime, as well as a number of suspected crime tools.

The arrested person has been provisionally charged with two counts of “burglary” and the case will be heard at the Kwun Tong Magistrates’ Courts this morning (13/2).
