Motorbike accident on Hiram’s Highway leaves driver in a coma

A motorcyclist was in a coma last night (30/1) after his bike went out of control on Hiram’s Highway and crashed, throwing him up into the air.

The incident occurred around 10:00 pm when the 57-year-old motorcyclist was driving towards Kowloon on the elevated section at the Clear Water Bay Road junction. He lost control, hit the barrier and the bike turned over throwing him into the road.

When emergency services arrived he was unconscious, and after treating a serious head wound, they took him to Queen Elizabeth Hospital for emergency treatment. The road was closed for about an hour while the debris was cleared and the bike taken away for observation. Police are investigating the cause of the accident.
