In a move that will delight residents townies are to be banned from Sai Kung from today, First of April, unless they pay a $1000 bounty. The Sai Kung District Council has reached an agreement with the Home Affairs Bureau to bring this into effect. Pollution will be reduced, the environment will be much more attractive — we will no longer have to look at townies — the district will be quieter and traffic jams reduced.
Banners will be strung across Sai Sha Rd, and Clear Water Bay Rd at Pik Uk and above Silverstrand. NO TOWNIES BEYOND THIS POINT the banners will proclaim and in smaller print, Unless you pay a $1000 fine. The District Council will set up booths near the banners to collect money from the few who will want to visit anyway. The funds will be used to spruce up our district, a spokesman for the SKDC said.
HONG KONG BUZZ applauds this overdue move by the District Council and the Home Affairs Bureau. We all want a quieter, townie-free Sai Kung.
