UPDATE: At 12:51 pm this afternoon (17/9) rescuers recovered the body of the missing man near Lai Chi Chong Pier close to Mount Hallowes in Sai Kung West Country Park. He is suspected to have fallen accidently from a mountain path.
Shou Fugang (59 years old), executive director and chief executive officer of China Bank of Communications Insurance Co., Ltd., went missing the day before yesterday (12/9) near Shek Uk Shan, Sai Kung. After receiving a report yesterday (13/9), the police, together with firefighters and the Government Flying Service, dispatched helicopters to conduct land and air searches but found nothing. Today (14/9), the Fire Climbing Rescue Team and the Civil Security Team searched again, but they have not yet discovered any trace of the missing man.

Shou Fugang, is a non-executive director of Bank of Communications International Holdings Limited, an executive director and chief executive officer of Bank of Communications Insurance of China. He lives alone at Braemar Hill in North Point. He originally scheduled an appointment with a female relative and friend the night before, but he did not show up. The female relative and friend contacted Shou’s company yesterday and found that he did not go to work. Colleagues went to his apartment to check and found that there was no one in the house and called the police for help.

The police then searched the building and nearby CCTV footage and found that Shou Fugang left the apartment alone in hiking gear at 6:00 am on 12 September and took a minibus to Tin Hau. The police also contacted his wife, who is in the mainland, who said that Shou had told her that he would go hiking on the 12th, but did not mention the destination. After investigation by the police they determined that he had gone hiking near Shek Uk Shan, Sai Kung. The authorities mobilised more than 70 people in the Shek Uk Shan area for two consecutive days. The operation continues.
