New General Manager appointed at Hebe Haven Yacht Club

Paul Arkwright has been appointed general manager of the Hebe Haven Yacht Club, Commodore Don Johnston said. Paul, now holidaying in Australia, takes over on 6 December. Meanwhile, Oliver Schuhman is looking after the club’s management.

Paul has been Vice Commodore, a member of the General Committee for nine years and active on many committees. Previously Paul was managing director of Pak Sha Wan-based Excel Media Group, publisher of HR Magazine and the club’s magazine, Hebe Jebes. Don said while GM Paul will sever all business ties and be totally focused on club interests.

Paul arrived in Hong Kong in 1992 and has wide sailing experience. He has crewed Beneteau First and taken part in Round the Island, Harbour, China Cup and Typhoon series races as well as dinghy sailing and sea kayaking.

He succeeds Rene Verhulst, who retired.
