The police said that they attached great importance to the case and handed it over to the Kowloon East Regional Traffic Department for follow-up investigation. After investigation, the police arrested the 46-year-old male driver in Ngau Tau Kok District yesterday (31/3) on suspicion of dangerous driving. He has been released on bail pending investigation and is due to report to police in late April.

The police reiterate that the above-mentioned dangerous driving behaviour in disregard of law seriously endangers the safety of other road users. Offenders, upon conviction, are subject to a maximum penalty of three years’ imprisonment and a fine of $25,000. If it is the first conviction, the licence can be suspended for at least 6 months, and if convicted again, it can be suspended for at least two years, in addition to mandatory driving improvement courses and 10 points for driving offences.
