Sai Kung people to honour late Queen

Regular BUZZ contributors are amongst those helping to organise a number of events around Sai Kung to honour the late Queen Elizabeth II on the day of her funeral. One such event will be at Poets starting at 2:00 pm. Here is a message to our readers from regular contributor, Trevor Bailey:

Queen Elizabeth’s funeral is on Monday, 19 September. That day Sai Kung people will gather to pay their respects to her and toast her memory, also the new King. The wake will begin at 2:00 pm at Poets, Sai Kung and go on into the evening, perhaps spreading to nearby bars and restaurants.

Who has got a lovely portrait of Her Majesty that can be displayed at the venue? Who’s got a Union Flag, a Paddington Bear? Who would like to create a display of photos in the Queen’s memory, perhaps of her visits here? Who knows a piper who would be willing to perform? Who’s got a feathered hat like those worn in England for ceremonial occasions and would like to read a poem about Elizabeth II?

By putting our heads together we can create a marvellous event in honour of the Queen. Please spread the word.
