Recently, a short video has been circulated on the Internet showing a silver Mercedes crossing the double white lines several times while driving in the direction of Clear Water Bay on Hiram’s Highway, Sai Kung. During the video it passed oncoming vehicles several times and drove on the wrong carriageway multiple times. Fortunately no accident occurred. The incident took place on 20 September.

Police officers of the Kowloon East Regional Investigation and Support Team took the initiative to investigate after seeing the video and arrested the driver two weeks later. After investigation, officers identified the illegal driver and arrested a local male driver aged 54 in Ngau Tau Kok District on the charge of “dangerous driving” yesterday morning (7/10). The arrested driver was released on bail pending investigation and is due to report to police in early November.
