Tseung Kwan O Cross Bay Bridge and Tseung-Lam Tunnel are tentatively scheduled to open to traffic on 11 December

The Tsueng Kwan O Bay bridge

The Tseung Kwan O-Lam Tin Tunnel (Tseung-Lam Tunnel), and the Tseung Kwan O Cross-Bay Bridge, are expected to open to traffic on December 11.

The Tseung Kwan O-Lam Tin Tunnel is 4.2 km long. It will connect the Tseung Kwan O – Lam Tin Tunnel to Wan Po Road in Tseung Kwan O’s Area 86 to provide an alternative access route to the south-eastern part of the district.

The bridge crosses Tseung Kwan O Bay and provides direct access to the Tseung-Lam tunnel to Lam Tin

Drivers from south-eastern Tseung Kwan O will be able to reach the western part of the district via the link or commute to Kowloon East via the new tunnel without traveling through Wan Po Road and Tseung Kwan O town centre.

The connecting roads around TKO

The Tseung Kwan O Cross-Bay Bridge, will be the first Cross-Bay Bridge in Hong Kong with carriageways, footpaths, cycle tracks and viewing platforms at the same time. Both the Cross-Bay Link Road and the South Bridge will have viewing platforms for visitors to enjoy the views of Tseung Kwan O.

In addition, the bridge and the cycle track along Tseung Kwan O Bay will form a 5 km-long coastal cycle track.

When the Tseung-Lam Tunnel is opened to traffic, the Tseung Kwan O Tunnel will be free. A new bus route via Tseung Kwan O Cross Bay Bridge and Tseung Lam Tunnel will open the next day (12/12).
