Driver, dazzled by sun, smashes into oncoming truck in Clear Water Bay

A traffic accident occurred in Clear Water Bay just before 9:00 am this morning (1/3). A car travelling along Clear Water Bay Road towards Sai Kung, crossed the middle line near the junction of Sheung Sze Wan Road, and hit a container truck coming in the other direction head-on.

The front of the saloon car was severely dented, and the airbag popped out. The driver suffered forehead injuries and needed to be sent to the hospital by ambulance for treatment.

According to the onlookers at the scene, it is suspected that the sun dazzled the driver and he crossed the line during the opening of the sunshade. Police are investigating the cause of the accident.
