Catherine’s Puppies launches long term funding plan

Catherine Lumsden, of Sai Kung animal welfare charity Catherine’s Puppies, is appealing to her 22,000 Facebook followers, which she says is “quite amazing really for such a small organisation”, to donate on a regular basis to help with long term commitments, such as rent.

According to Catherine, “Even $50/month would be a big help. Almost a year ago, we opened our second shelter at Tai Mong Tsai. It has been a huge success and helped many dogs already. I said at the beginning, I would only do this if we could pay a years rent in advance, as trying to find the money monthly for our first shelter in Ho Chung is stressful enough!

“We are almost at the end of the year contract. To stay open, we need to cover the rent for a year again, at $17,000/month = $204,000. Finding $204,000 is already going to be extremely hard, but we are also $106,000 in debt at the vets leaving us a target of $310,000.

“If you follow the page already, you know the work we do, and the dogs we help. We need your help now, MORE THAN EVER, to keep our current dogs sheltered, and have the facility and resources to keep helping more.”

BUZZ has been supporter of Catherine’s Puppies since we started publishing, and it is one of the local animal welfare groups that we support with BUZZ’s Concert for the Animals each year (this year planned for 24 November at Hebe Haven Yacht Club).

If you would like to help then you can donate on a regular monthly basis to Catherine’s Puppies Rescue Shelter Limited.
