Around noon today (12/7) a lorry overturned on Clear Water Bay Road, near Pik Uk, as it was travelling in the direction of Choi Hung. It crashed into the stone walled road divider and then overturned. The driver was able to call the police for help, but needed help of emergency services and passing drivers to be extracted from the cab.
The driver and passenger suffered minor injuries and were sent to the hospital for treatment.
Pictures online show the overturned lorry blocking two lanes of traffic. Other motorists are seen assisting the driver exit the cab; the stone on the roadside was also smashed into pieces.
During the traffic accident, the entire carriageway of Clear Water Bay Road (toward Choi Hung) near Pik Uk was temporarily closed. The closure was lifted at about 2:00 pm, but KMB Routes 91, 91M and 92 (toward Diamond Hill Station) were still diverted until later in the afternoon.
Traffic was blocked in the direction of Choi Hung for two hours.
