If you think tattoos are an art form beautifying the human body beyond nature, get along to the Convention and Exhibition Centre on 4, 5 or 6 October. It’s the eighth year of the Hong Kong China International Tattoo Exhibition. You will find hundreds of tattooists showing off their art and tattoo enthusiasts strutting about, not wearing a lot.

Maybe you want to get inked to impress the girl or boy friend; this you will be able to do at the exhibition. Or perhaps you just want to wander about ogling inky characters.
Two of Hong Kong’s most famous tattoo artists are Gabe Shum, who painted Le Bron James and David Beckham, arch-villain in the eyes of those who don’t like tattoos, and Joey Pang. Joey favoured a brush-stroke technique mirroring Chinese painting, quite beautifully. She inked Lewis Hamilton and Candy Lo. Ms Pang went through a divorce and business failure, however, and dropped out.

The tattoo exhibition will be staged in Hall 5FG at the convention centre. Doors open at 11:00 am and stay open until late. Tickets are $200 for one day and $300 for three days. There’s no doubt the ogle factor will be high. You’ll see some 8s and 9s; if you’re lucky a 10.
