Three-vehicle collision closes Clear Water Bay Road, Sai Kung; two people injured

A traffic accident occurred on Clear Water Bay Road, Sai Kung yesterday evening (4/10) around 6:00 pm when a private car, a taxi and a bus collided while travelling along Clear Water Bay Road towards Sai Kung near Pak Shek Wo Village. The male driver of the car and the bus captain were injured and sent to hospital for treatment.

Reports say that a 42-year-old man was driving a car following a KMB 91M bus to Po Lam driven by a 33-year-old bus captain. They were travelling along the slow lane of Clear Water Bay Road towards Sai Kung when the car tried to overtake the bus, but two vehicles collided, and the car driver lost control, and crashed into a taxi being driven on the fast lane at the time.

The entire stretch of Clear Water Bay Road towards Sai Kung near Pak Shek Wo was temporarily closed. It was fully unblocked at around 9:00 pm. There was traffic congestion at the scene, and some KMB routes including 91, 91M, and 92 were delayed.

Rescue workers arrived after receiving the report. In the accident, the driver of the car and the captain of the KMB bus suffered facial injuries and low back pain respectively and needed to be sent to the United Hospital by ambulance for treatment; the taxi driver was not injured. Police cordoned off the scene for a time to investigate the incident and its cause.
