UPDATED: Sadly the puppy didn’t make it and died Sunday evening.

Thursday evening (16/1) a couple walking past the rubbish bins near the public toilets in Ho Chung, Sai Kung heard a weak moaning sound coming from inside one of them. Upon further investigation they found a puppy lying on top of the rubbish, clearly thrown there by its owner.puppy saved 1

They rescued the poor thing and took it to the vets, where it was checked out. It is now being considered for adoption. Netizens on the Facebook page Sai Kung Lost Found Injured Animals are outraged.

Kaz O’Carroll wrote: There looks to be letters and mail in the trash bag. Which could provide addresses, names and clues. Seriously hope the police or SPCA were called to investigate?!?

Punam de Manny wrote: And once again, another heinous act committed to an innocent creature. If you don’t want it, have the decency to surrender it. As much as we want it, we all know the perpetrator will never get caught. Hope they rot and burn in hell in that special place reserved for them.

Mala Singh Barber said: Another despicable act of cruelty. I just hope whoever did this meets a fate worse than the one he or she inflicted on this poor creature. Some humans r just worthless sh*t.
