Sai Kung publisher Guy Shirra will hold a book launching at noon on Saturday 30 November at La Verde, Sai Kung. His “More Tales from a Barren Rock” will be on sale at the discounted price of $120, Guy said. All profit from the event will go to Sailability, the local charity that gives sailing experiences to disabled and disadvantaged people.
Guy’s book is more or less a sequel to “Tales From a Barren Rock”, edited by Rod Olsen and Roger Medcalf, founder of SAI KUNG BUZZ news magazine. Both books are compilations of stories by long-term residents, who tell of their comical and adventurous experiences in Hong Kong, a city they grew to love. Guy, publisher of Sherriff Books, will be present to sign copies of his book.
