Cars are not good at admiring beauty, so why does their carpark have the finest sea view in Sai Kung? The Kau Sai Chau Golf Club car park should be moved from its prime location overlooking the water on the point along from WM Hotel.
Once the carpark is gone, the point could be given over to a leafy park or a row of restaurants and shops no more than two stories high. Or perhaps both. With the restaurants and shops set back in a park with a water feature overlooking the sea.

This is a lovely area popular with runners, walkers, dog exercisers and kite flyers. It should not be dominated by a carpark.
Golfing is about getting exercise, so let the sports men and women walk a bit further to the Kau Sai Chau ferry. We hope the Government takes note and moves the Kau Sai Chau carpark back from the waterfront, freeing the site for far more attractive public usage.
The school and car park occupy prime sites along the Sai Kung waterfront
Then there’s the pithily named Sai Kung Central Lee Siu Yam Memorial School. It’s an admirable school where many of our kids have studied beneficially but it is old and would benefit from a rebuild with modern facilities. If this is done at a new and larger site with better playgrounds for the kids, then a big space would be created for the public to enjoy on the waterfront.
