New gymnasium opening in centre of Sai Kung to be run by martial arts champion

Martial arts champion Andrew Wong Kee will open his new gymnasium in the centre of Sai Kung on Monday. He is outfitting the gym now. It’s on the second floor above Poets on Yi Chun St. “I just want to get the door open and get the kids in.” Andrew plans a grand opening in March when he’ll do demonstrations of boxing, kick-boxing and ju-jitsu with kids. “It is good for the community that new businesses are opening against the trend when so many have closed. Andrew previously had a gym at Queen’s Rd, Central and also ran the gym opposite the pier in Sai Kung.

Andrew is probably the toughest guy in Sai Kung. He is a former New Zealand boxing champion, world champion in Brazilian ju-jitsu, a title won in Abu Dhabi, and New Zealand champion in Kyokushin karate. He has played 7s and 15s rugby for Hong Kong. On top of all that Andrew is an expert on nutrition, posture and athletics coaching. You can benefit from this expertise by showing up at the Sai Kung gym.

Classes are $270 for kids and $300 for adults. Adults can purchase the right to use Andrew’s gym as often as they like for $3000 monthly where they can join in training for strongman fitness, boxing and Brazilian ju-jitsu.

A happy parent wrote: “Andrew, an exceptional coach, deeply invests in each child. My son gained confidence, resilience and learned self-defence, transforming his abilities and enjoying friendships in class.”

Andrew is a New Zealander from Hastings, Hawkes Bay, who now lives at Lung Mei village with his wife and seven-year-old child.
