Two car collision on Clear Water Bay Road, Sai Kung injures five people and causes two hour road closure

Yesterday afternoon (19/3) around 1:20 pm two private cars collided on Clear Water Bay Road, Sai Kung opposite Pik Uk prison. Five people were injured and were sent to United Hospital for treatment.

The right front of a silver Honda Civic Type R was damaged and the airbag was deployed, and the front of the other car, a black Mercedes-Benz, was also damaged, the road was littered with debris, and a speed sign was knocked down.

The police said that a 39-year-old male was driving a silver Honda Civic Type R westward along Clear Water Bay Road and a 59-year-old male driver was driving a Mercedes-Benz private eastward along Clear Water Bay Road. When the Mercedes-Benz reached the junction of No. 397 Clear Water Bay Road, it is suspected to have collided with the Honda while turning right into Razor Hill Road. The Honda then knocked down a road sign. When police officers arrived at the scene, they found the two drivers and three with different injuries. They were conscious and were sent to United Hospital for treatment.

Due to a traffic accident, part of the lane of Clear Water Bay Road (towards Kowloon) near Razor Hill Road was temporarily closed and reopened at 2:42 pm.
