Car crashes into lamppost in Sai Kung; driver does a runner

A traffic accident occurred in Sai Kung around 10:00 pm last night (28/8), when a car travelling along Tai Au Mun Road toward Tseung Kwan O lost control near Clear Water Bay Second Beach. It crashed into a roadside lamppost before coming to a stop.

The front and windshield of the car were damaged, and a passing motorist reported the accident. Rescue personnel arrived, but the car was empty. Police are attempting to contact the owner based on the vehicle registration information so as to identify the driver.

A tow truck was dispatched to tow it away for inspection.
