56-year-old Mak Lung Yee, accused of indecently assaulting five girls at Sai Kung Sung Tsun Catholic Primary School 30 years ago when he was a Primary Section “discipline master”, appeared at the Kwun Tong District Court yesterday. The judge adjourned the case until 28 February 2019, pending the defendant hiring a private lawyer or applying for legal aid.
The prosecution told the court that four witnesses will testify in the case behind a screen. Mak, referring to his lack of legal representation, said he might have enough money to hire a lawyer.
The defendant has been suspended from the school since he was arrested by the police in March this year. The charges allege that Mak had abused five girls in Sai Kung from 1988 to 1994, and one of the victims was indecently assaulted at least three times in the same year.
