Driver and passenger flee scene of accident after hitting taxi on Clear Water Bay Road, which overturned

Around 11:00 pm last night (1/9) a taxi travelling along Clear Water Bay Road towards Sai Kung was leaving the bus stop opposite Tseng Lan Shue after dropping off a passenger. A white Audi car approached and, presumably failing to brake in time, slammed into the rear of the taxi. The taxi flipped over to the left and came to rest next to the median divider.

The taxi driver suffered minor injuries and was able to climb out of the car on his own. The female driver and male passenger in the Audi abandoned the car and fled. The taxi driver was taken to hospital by ambulance for treatment.

The police are investigating the incident and the case is being classified as “traffic accident with injuries and the driver leaving the scene”. No one has been arrested yet.
