New restaurant and coffee shop to open on Sai Kung waterfront around Easter

BUZZ exclusive

The Sai Kung Waterfront is about to get a new restaurant and coffee shop

The buildings on Sai Kung waterfront, previously housing Momentai and then Turtle by the Sea, will reopen around Easter as a western style restaurant and coffee shop.

BUZZ spoke to the new proprietor Jeremy Chan while he was supervising the reconstruction of both buildings. The larger will be a western style restaurant called Asgard, the smaller a coffee shop called KungKung. The former is slated to open after Easter; the latter before.

Building works underway for the restaurant

Chan is no newbie to the F&B scene. He runs L’Atlantis, a French themed restaurant adjacent to the Gold Coast Hotel.

Chan, who hails from Tuen Mun, said that he liked the setting, views and general environment Sai Kung and the Waterfront, and compared it favourably to the Tuen Mun area.

The proto-coffee shop

And for those looking for somewhere to drink at reasonable cost, he laughed when BUZZ asked whether he would be charging $100 for a glass of beer, as the previous tenants did; he said $70-80 would be a reasonable price…..
