Big events at Hebe Haven Yacht Club in May

There will be two important events at Hebe Haven Yacht Club (HHYC) later this month to which non-members will be made most welcome: The first is the traditional 24 Hour Charity Dinghy Race: The second is the 2026 Ladies Sailing Festival: Steering the Course.

24 Hour Charity Dinghy Race 2026, Saturday 23 – Sunday 24 May 2026

In its 22nd edition, this signature charity event has been organised by Hebe Haven Yacht Club since 2002. Free to enter and packed with action, the weekend offers fun both on and off the water, bringing families, friends and supporters together for a meaningful cause. Join the Sai Kung community for a weekend of charity, sport and fun! This year’s vibrant “Flower Power” theme promises to light up the weekend with colour and energy.

What’s in store:

  • Sailing action – remote-control yachting experience, SUP and raft races
  • Entertainment – live music & DJ, drum jam, Bollywood dancing and Muay Thai
  • Family fun – children’s play area, clown performances and face painting
  • Carnival treats – retail stalls and vendor booths featuring lifestyle, crafts and goodies
  • Great food throughout the weekend

Beneficiaries this year include the Children’s Cancer Foundation, TREATS, IDEAL, Sailability HK Ltd, and Sai Kung District Community Centre.

Ladies Sailing Festival: Steering the Course 2026, Wednesday 27–Saturday 30 May 2026 

The 2026 Women’s Sailing Festival: Steering the Course, co-organised by Hebe Haven Yacht Club and Sailability HK, with the 2026 theme “Gain to Give.” Taking place from 27 May through 30 May.

The four-day event offers a vibrant mix of sailing experiences, educational workshops, and social events designed for sailors of all levels and the wider community. 

Key activities include:

  • Opening Forum 27 May
  • Girls Night IN 28 May – Designed for youth and first-timers, this welcoming evening at Hebe Haven Yacht Club blends playful watersports with creative crafts at the Garden Bar. No experience needed—just curiosity and confidence. Splash, play, create, and connect with mentors and friends as we grow the next generation of women on the water. Inspired by our 2026 Mermaid theme for all.
  •  Sailing Experience, 28–29 May – aboard J/80 keelboats, Hansa 303 dinghies, and  the inclusive keelboat Mohan, provided by Hebe Haven Yacht Club and Sailability HK.
  • Final events, 30 May:  including Race Management Training, the Steering the Course Regatta, followed by the PrizeGiving and Celebration Party.

About Hebe Haven Yacht Club

Hebe Haven Yacht Club is a private members club established in the Pak Sha Wan, Sai Kung area in 1963. The Club provides first-class yacht racing and boating facilities for members.

The Club also works closely with local schools and organisations, to offer training facilities and professional instruction to develop youth sailing in Hong Kong.
