Hebe Haven Yacht Club donates $500,000 raised at 24 Hour Dinghy Race to local charities

Hebe Haven Yacht Club (HHYC), Sai Kung, hosted a cheque presentation ceremony in front of a packed clubhouse on 19 July. Representatives from five local charities joined event sponsors and club members to celebrate the distribution of HK$500,000 raised during the 24 Hour Charity Dinghy Race 2026.

As Asia’s only and longest-running 24-hour endurance aquathon, the annual event took place in Pak Sha Wan, Sai Kung on 23-24 May 2026 for the 22nd time. The proceeds raised were formally presented at the ceremony to five long-standing charity partners to directly support healthcare, inclusion, and community empowerment initiatives across Hong Kong.

The recipients were:

  • Children’s Cancer Foundation: HK$250,000.00
  • Sailability Hong Kong Limited: HK$100,000.00
  • TREATS: HK$75,000.00
  • IDEAL: HK$37,500.00
  • Sai Kung District Community Centre: HK$37,500.00

Since its inception in 2002, the HHYC 24 Hour Charity Dinghy Race has raised over HK$13.9 million to aid disadvantaged groups, young people with illnesses or special needs, and local community outreach programmes.

The success of the race is made possible through the dedicated support of key event sponsors—including multi-year primary sponsor Knight Frank, as well as Piercey Marine and Linnovate.
