Motorcyclist dies in traffic accident outside Mount Pavilia; car driver made illegal right hand turn

A motorcyclist was killed in a traffic accident outside Mount Pavilia last night (26 October) when a Mercedes Benz car made an illegal right hand turn from Clear Water Bay Road into the residential complex.

Police said that at  10:08 pm, a 28-year-old man was driving a motorcycle along Clear Water Bay Road to Clear Water Bay. A 46-year-old woman was driving a private car along Clear Water Bay Road to Kowloon. The car made right hand turn into Mount Pavilia crossing a double white line and ignoring a No Right Turn traffic sign. The motorcyclist was seriously injured. He was sent to Tseung Kwan O Hospital in a coma and was certified dead at 11:08 pm. The 46-year-old female private car driver was arrested for dangerous driving causing death and is being detained for investigation. The Special Investigation Team of the Traffic Department of the Kowloon East Region is investigating the case.
