Early this morning (27 November) four men stopped a car at Nam Pin Wai roundabout on Hiram’s Highway, Sai Kung. They attacked the two men in the car and stole $4,000.
Around 4.30 am the two men were driving from Ho Chung New Village when they were attacked as they approached the roundabout near Nam Pin Wai. Another car drove in front of them and stopped; four men jumped out of the car and broke the windows of the victims’ car. They then attacked the two men with knives.
During the attack the two victims were wounded in the head, hands, and face. The four men took $4,000 from the injured men and drove off in their vehicle.
The victims called emergency services. Ambulanceman took a 23-year-old man with a hand and neck injury, and a 24-year-old man with a face and right hand injury to Tseung Kwan O Hospital for treatment.
The road was spattered with blood when the police investigating team arrived. Sources said that the two victims were not the car owners. They just borrowed a car from friends to drive. It is reported that the car owner lives in Hoi Lai Estate, Sham Shui Po. Police have temporarily listed the case as “robbery and wounding” and are investigating the incident.
BUZZ reported a similar robbery on 29 October, when a local bakery owner was attacked as he drove his car along Fuk Man Road in Sai Kung town. The attackers stole $90,000 from the baker; then then crashed their own car and hijacked a taxi, injuring the taxi driver, and drove the stolen vehicle to Sheung Shui, where they disappeared
