Body of Saigon hiker missing for six days found at Tai Leng Tung

On Monday 11 July a 54-year-old man (θΆ™θ€€η‡Š) was reported missing after hiking in the Clear Water Bay Country Park, Sai Kung. Various departments searched for days to locate him to no avail. His body was finally found in the country park near Tai Leng Tung last night (16/7).

Civil Aid Service auxiliary members found the corpse and called the Government Flying Service helicopter to hoist it away at about 7:00 pm. Fire Service Department called off their search operation after the body had been identified around 9:00 pm.

The deceased man left his residence in Wai Yip Street, Kwun Tong on Monday morning. His wife is reported to have said that her husband was planning to go to Lobster Bay Rock Carvings, Clear Water Bay. His last online message was about 1:00 pm that day, and the location was in Po Toi O.Β Search and rescue personnel from multiple departments conducted search operations in the area around the site for several days.

Last night, it was reported that the Civil Aid Service mountain rescue team found the body of the victim in Clear Water Bay Country Park on Tai Au Mun Road near Tai Leng Tung.Β The cause of death to be determined after an autopsy.
