The weather has been clear recently, and hiking to enjoy the blue sky and white clouds is most enjoyable. However, the extreme hot weather warning has been in effect for several days. At noon today, the temperature rose to 33 degrees Celsius in many parts of Hong Kong.
The Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department has now installed a number of water refilling stations in country parks, allowing visitors to bring their own water bottles to replenish drinking water for free. The department said that maintenance of the water filling station will be carried out on a regular basis, including daily cleaning, general inspection, replacement of filter elements, water quality inspection and maintenance, etc., to ensure the quality of drinking water.

AFCD reminds visitors to the Country Parks that they choose a shaded route in summer, and should always pay attention to your physical condition and that of your companions. Once you find that you have dizziness, headache, nausea or rapid pulse, it may be heat exhaustion or even heat stroke. When in doubt, stop for a while and go to a cool place immediately, such as under a tree or under an umbrella to block the sun to dissipate heat. You can also spray water to lower your body temperature. If the situation does not improve, you should call for help immediately.
In hot summer, you should also consider the thermal adaptability of yourself and your companions. Don’t drink water when you are thirsty. You should replenish water and drinks containing electrolytes regularly.
