Sai Kung’s biggest charity open-to-public event, the 24-Hour Dinghy Race at Hebe Haven Yacht Club, will be staged on 19 – 20 October this year. Thanks to all the supporting sponsors namely St. James’s Place, Knight Frank, Piercey Marine Limited, Corney & Barrow, Carlsberg and Bon Café, it is without doubt the most colourful, must-see occasion on the Sai Kung calendar.

By the waterfront you will find the Race Village where local vendors and businesses will be manning booths offering food and drink, crafts, children’s games and discounted products. Live entertainment will be rocking the day and night away, like Bollywood dancers, school bands, Jimmy2Times, piloxing, fitness class and many more.

On the water sailors of all ages will be racing to see who can complete the most laps of a 1.2km course in 24 hours. Hebe Haven Yacht Club is proud that it is the only 24-hour endurance race in SE Asia.

This will be the 21st year of the 24-Hour Dinghy Race. It has raised more than $12.7 million for the Children’s Cancer Foundation, IDEAL, TREATS and of course Sailability Hong Kong, Sai Kung’s home-grown charity founded by Kay Rawbone. This magnificent team has given tens of thousands of disabled and under-privileged people sailing experiences in specially adapted boats.

Get along to the Dinghy Race from noon on 19 October to eat, drink and join in the partying with Sai Kung’s beautiful people while supporting good causes.

HHYC is calling for volunteers to do event set-up and pack-up, act as lap counters for the sailors and man the Race Village and safety boats. Go to the HHYC event website https://www.hebehaven24hour.com/ for more information.

The donation page is open up until 1 November 2024 at the event website – click the donations link on the main page.
