Blessing of the Pets was held at Sacred Heart Church Sai Kung on 27 October. This charming event was organised by Father Raja, the parish priest. About 50 people turned up, Catholics and non-Catholics, to have their animals blessed personally by the good father. There were dogs and cats even lizards and fish. The traditional event is said to have originated with St Francis of Assisi, patron saint of animals who died in 1228.
Last Saturday the Church held All Souls Mass, a commemoration of the faithful departed. If you want to pray for the deceased and offer mass, you may go to the Church any day and write the name of the deceased in the book outside and make your offering.
Sacred Heart Church welcomes everyone.
