Another traffic accident involving a wild boar occurred on Clear Water Bay Road yesterday (13/11) around 3:00 am. A motorcycle was travelling along Clear Water Bay Road near Tai Au Mun in the direction of Kowloon, and when it was near Clear Water Bay Garden, a large wild boar was reported to have rushed out of the trees by the roadside. The male motorcyclist immediately braked, but still hit the boar. The motorcyclist then lost control of the bike and it rolled over. The driver and his female passenger fell to the ground and were injured. Fortunately, they were still conscious and could report the incident for help.
The 39-year-old driver suffered abrasions on his shoulder, and the 34-year-old passenger suffered abrasions on her knees. They were both sent to Tseung Kwan O Hospital for treatment. According to the passenger, the two were driving out of Clear Water Bay Country Park when a large wild boar suddenly ran out into the road. Fortunately, the speed of the bike was not high at the time, and the wild boar later walked into the scrub.
Police are investigating the cause of the crash.
A similar incident took place along the same road on 31 October which sadly proved fatal for the boar.
