Electric car catches fire in Clearwater Bay; only the frame remains

At about 9:30 pm last night (5/7), a 23-year-old man was driving his electric car along Tai Au Mun Road, Sai Kung, near Clearwater Bay First Beach, when smoke suddenly came out of the front of the car. The driver, shocked, lost control, damaging about 10 metres of retaining wall and destroying about 4 metres of iron railings.

The car immediately caught fire, and the driver got out of the car to escape and report the case. Firefighters arrived at the scene and sent a team wearing smoke helmets to put out the fire.

Only the bare frame of the car was visible when the fire was extinguished

The fire was quickly extinguished. From video and photos on the Internet, the fire was fierce and only the frame of the car was left. The driver injured his hands and feet and was sent to the hospital by ambulance.
