A 43-year-old woman allegedly attacked her boyfriend during an argument at a house in Pak Kong, Sai Kung on 8 July. The boyfriend was injured in the head and sent to hospital. The woman was later charged with wounding with intent and was brought to court at Kwun Tong Magistrates’ Court yesterday (9/7).
The defendant was not required to plead for the time being and the magistrate adjourned the case to 23 July for further hearing, pending the request for two psychiatric reports for the defendant to decide whether she is suitable to plead or be dealt with by a hospital order. The defendant was remanded in custody at Siu Lam Psychiatric Hospital during this period and will have her bail reviewed on 17 July.
The defendant, who is reported to be unemployed, was charged with unlawfully and maliciously injuring her 66-year-old boyfriend with the intention of causing serious bodily harm in a house in Pak Kong Road, Pak Kong New Village, Sai Kung, on 8 July. Initial investigations at the scene suggested that the victim was struck on the back of the head with the blade of a kitchen knife and a hiking stick during a quarrel over personal matters. The accused fled the scene but later went to the police station in Tsim Sha Tsui around 2:00 pm, concerned for her boyfriend’s safety.
