Scene and Heard: Strange signs, HHYC needs helpers, doggie basket case, and students lend a hand

Strange signs

The English wording of this Sai Kung District FEHD Cleansing Team sign posted in Po Lo Che suggests that either English literate humans are taking the occasional illicit dump in public or that dogs are able to read English.

The Chinese wording effectively means: โ€œDo not poo or pee hereโ€

Perhaps BUZZ readers would like to send in other Sai Kung signs or notices which puzzle, tickle or amuse?

Students lend a hand

Last moth, students from Cheng Chek Chee Secondary School, Sai Kung participated in an initiative by volunteering at the Dog Adoption Day organized by Sai Kung Stray Friends Foundation. This event provided an excellent opportunity for the students to gain invaluable experience in community service.

During the event, they engaged with local residents, emphasising the significance of adopting stray dogs instead of purchasing pets. They also worked to raise funds to support these animals.

Supriti Sachdeva, who helped organise the event, said “We believe that activities like this can enhance students’ understanding of their role within the community and encourage their active participation.”
