Adults who pay $250 for entry to Sai Kung’s Concert for the Animals on 30 November are going to get a deal they have never seen before: performances by four bands, a buffet dinner, free bowling, two drinks and the knowledge that they are doing good. $150 of their money will go to five animal charities: Catherine’s Puppies, Hong Kong Cats, Sai Kung Stray Friends Foundation, Home Dog Home and Sai Kung Lost Found Injured Animals.

Energy matched by vivacity — girls of the Tikitiki Dancing Troupe will star in three animal-themed shows on 30 November

This is the second year of the Concert created by SAI KUNG BUZZ. This year the host is TIKITIKI BOWLING BAR, owned and led by animal lovers, generously sponsoring the event for the charities’ benefit. The bands performing are Village Dogs, Frankie Hollywood and the Tiki Birds, Jimmy2Times and Hudson Hornet. And you will be able to jive along with the local Irish Dancers plus the Tikitiki Dancing Troupe, whose energy is matched only by their vivacity. The high-stepping girls will perform numbers entitled “Rescue Me” and “Hound Dog” plus songs from CATS.

Kids’ tickets are $100. This entitles them to two drinks, buffet food, dog and cat mask painting lessons, a magician show, and a dancing performance about the delightful cats and dogs waiting for new homes. The children’s show starts at 5:00 pm and runs to 7:00 pm. Then the four-hour adult show begins.

30 November is all about benefiting adorable characters like these from Catherine’s Puppies

Videos and photos of pets looking for families to adopt will be screened on all the world-class nightclub’s video walls, and the welfare groups concerned will have details and application forms available if one of the cats or dogs catches your eye. And there will be a lucky draw, raffle and auction, with items donated by local companies and individuals.

The organisers hope the event will raise more than $200,000 for the animal charities, all locally based. The key is ticket sales. But don’t worry if you can’t buy tickets in advance. You can simply show up and buy them at the door on 30 November. Meanwhile, tickets are on sale at HK Academy, Pets Central, Resurrection Church, Tikitiki, The Hive and the above charities. Advice on how to obtain them is being spread on local social media. You can book places at the Concert for the Animals by emailing mail@hongkongbuzz.com with your details, or contact Tikitiki.

For those who are attending from outside Sai Kung, buses will be available from various places on Hong Kong island and Kowloon. Details will be available later.
