Truck runs out of control on Hiram’s Highway; one injured, lamppost demolished

In a weekend of many accidents on Sai Kung’s roads owing to the heavy rain from Severe Tropical Storm Bailu, one of the most newsworthy occurred on Hiram’s Highway on Sunday afternoon when a truck hit and demolished a lamppost near Pak Sha Wan.

The truck was  being driven towards Kowloon when it went out of control due to the slippery conditions. A lamppost was knocked over and the windshield smashed.

Police and ambulancemen were on the scene quickly and rescued a 17-year-old passenger who had injured his foot. After receiving the treatment, he was sent to hospital for treatment. The police are investigating the cause of the accident.
