This is not the first time that the Little Hawaii Trail has been soaked in foam. Three years ago BUZZ reported a similar case of the mysterious foam polluting the mountain stream in Pak Shek Wo.

Some citizens said that passing through the lower section of Tseng Lan Shue in Sai Kung yesterday (26/2) morning, a large amount of white foam appeared in the river. One morning hiker said that there were no bubbles upstream of the trail, and the bubbles suddenly appeared midway along. They suspected that it was related to nearby industrial facilities.

There are divergent opinions on the source of the bubbles. Some people suspect that someone was washing clothes upstream, and some netizens questioned the existence of illegal sewage discharge from the nearby industrial facilities.

These mysterious bubbles first appeared as early as 2017 and quite regularly since, the last time at the end of last year.
