A 30 metre Chinese style yacht ran aground and partially sunk about 10 metres offshore from the Hebe Haven Yacht Club, Sai Kung this morning (31/1) around 8:30 am. A dog was trapped and needed to be rescued. The fire department dispatched a fireboat to rescue the trapped dog, and an ambulance was on standby at the scene.
Images online show that half of the yacht involved was tilted and submerged in sea water. According to villagers at the scene, the boat owner was resting on another boat when the incident happened, while the dog was on the sunken ship. It later swam back to shore on its own. The case is still under police investigation.
