Taxi driver loses control and crashes 10 m down hillside on Sai Wan Road, Sai Kung

This afternoon (22/3), around 12:24 pm, a taxi driver lost control along Sai Wan Road, Sai Kung, and when it was near the High Island Reservoir the vehicle fell more than ten metres down the hillside.

The taxi driver, was able to climb out of the car by himself and made his way up the hillside to the road to wait for help. Rescue workers arrived at the scene and sent the driver, who was injured in the neck and waist, to the hospital for treatment.

The cause of the accident is under investigation.

UPDATE: After initial investigation a police spokeswoman said.“The 66-year-old driver pressed the accelerator pedal, but he intended to apply the brake,”
