Last Wednesday afternoon (12/4) a fisherman passing Ha Shan Tuk, part of Clear Water Bay Second Beach, Sai Kung, found a body lying on the rocky shore. Rescuers arrived at the scene and confirmed that the man was died. Police immediately launched an investigation, and later confirmed the name of the deceased and that he was 41 years old. Since it was already night by this time, and it was difficult to remove the body owing to the terrain, firefighters came to the scene again the next morning to assist remove the body using a jet ski.
After wrapping the body and fixing it on a board, they tied it to the rear of the jet ski, transferred it to a fire boat, and then took it to the Sai Wan Ho marine police base.
According to sources, the deceased was a scaffolding worker and lived with his wife in Lower Wong Tai Sin Village. The last time his wife saw him was around 8:00 am on 1 April. He had not been in touch for nearly two weeks.
At the time of his discovery he was lying on his back, wearing ordinary climbing clothes and carrying a rucksack. His body was severely decomposed, but there were no suspicious wounds on the body, and the contents of the backpack were intact. The cause of death is yet to be determined by autopsy, and the case was listed as the discovery of a dead body.
