15 suspected illegal immigrants arrested near East Dam, Sai Kung

Around 8:30 am today (25/10), police received a report that two taxis had picked up a number of people of South Asian descent near the East Dam, High Island Reservoir, Sai Kung. They were acting suspiciously and were suspected to be illegal immigrants. Police immediately dispatched officers to the scene and successfully intercepted two taxis on Tai Mong Tsai Road.

Subsequently, officers of the Kowloon East Region Mobile Unit searched the nearby area and set up roadblocks to intercept vehicles, and arrested five men near East Dam. The operation temporarily intercepted and arrested 15 suspected illegal immigrants. The arrested persons have been taken to the police station for investigation.
