Concert for the Animals 2018 aims to raise as much as $250,000 for five charities and volunteer groups, organiser says

The second Sai Kung Buzz Concert for the Animals may be able to raise about $250,000 for five charities and volunteer groups, one of the organisers, Roger Medcalf, said. This is because the host Tikitiki Bowling Bar is so large, its owners are generous animal lovers, and 1500 tickets are being printed.  The organisations benefiting from the Concert on 30 November are Narelle Pamuk’s Sai Kung Stray Friends, Catherine Lumsden’s Catherine’s Puppies, Emily Allington’s Hong Kong Cats, Debbie Chow’s Home Dog Home and Sai Kung – Lost Found Injured Animals set up by Carol Biddell and others.

The Tikitiki Bowling Bar, a world-class nightclub, has a capacity of 800, General Manager – Operations said. If all of the tickets are sold, people will not come at once, but will come and go throughout the dinner show from 5:00 to 11:00 pm. Some will buy tickets, but not attend, simply to support the cats and dogs that will benefit. Sixty per cent of the ticket sales money* will go to the charities because of the Tikitiki’s generosity.

The key to raising as much as $50,000 for each charity is ticket selling, Roger said. The tickets will be widely available soon and institutions such as Resurrection Church and HK Academy have come forward in support. They entitle holders to two standard drinks and a canapes selection. Children three and under free.

The Concert for the Animals on 30 November is going to be splendid. Look at the entertainment line-up that people can enjoy while tucking into the Tikitiki’s food and drink: 5:00 to 7:00 pm it will be KIDZONE: carnival games, tricks by a clown, musician and juggler, workshops, child musicians, and maybe even some robot demonstrations,

From 7:00 to 11:00 pm: Frankie Hollywood and the comic auctioneer who performed last year as MCs, local bands Village Dogs and Jimmy2Times, Irish dancing, brief remarks by the charity heads, Tikitiki Dancing Troupe, Frankie Hollywood and the Tiki Birds, auction of donated goods and a raffle draw.

Tickets will shortly be available at Tikitiki Bowling Bar, HK Academy, Resurrection Church, Pets Central and other supporting business and institutions in Sai Kung.  You will also be able to buy tickets on the door on 30 November.  You can book at reservations@urban-ent.com
